If there is a tree within a mile Tarzan will cast into it. Quite new to flicking light lures with a baitcaster. However he can cast further then most experienced fishos. The downside is pulling it up short of the tree line. "Tarzan, watch out for that tree" oops.
Aug 2010 Wiligi plus Several Bynoe runs
Cousin Brad's youngest - fair to say she is not fond of early starts. but when she does get up she gets into it.
Recently she nailed the most Kingies, and best snapper on our NZed trip.

Chooky made it to Darwin and nailed a couple of barra, and took a million photos. She remains the only one I showed around the top end to photograph 'power poles' and 'the sparkly road surface'.
"Oh shit its a kraken"
We had a few good sessions at Bynoe. One of which included me hooking the biggest barra I have hooked. Upon the fish's first jump he yelled "Oh shit it's a Kraken".
Unfortunately I lost it on its second mighty leap. I estimate it was about 120cm.
The newest member of the scaley mates. I meet Barry a few years ago at Leigh's joint, but this year (2022) I finally got to do a couple of Barra hunts with. I am pleased to say he is a convert to the infamous Pumpkin seed Mullet lures.
Thanks Ol mate for a few great days on the water. I hope there will be plenty more.
Cousin Brad and I have covered a lot of water together. As soon as we finish an adventure we usually have the next trip planned. From the Top End, to the Cape, FNQ to NZed.

Strewth it's Ruth and the Bearded Burbler.
I had the pleasure of showing these guys around the top end on a couple of occasions. Bernie is the reason I started using the infamous 4" swimming mullets. He showed me how to use them on a trip to Narooma. His home.
Metre plus Camo. Camo has the least amount of normal barra under his belt before nailing a 103cm on a trip we did to the Kimberley, Berkeley River.
Jul 22- Cardwell - Dec14 Hinchinbrook - Nov11 Bynoe - Apr11 The kimberley
Brother Rus's youngest is another of the fishing chicks that normally out fish us blokes. And she is never backward in reminding us of that.
We've been everywhere man!!
Bloody nora its hard to reflect on so many places we fished across the top end.

Dad loved his fishing, and thankfully got up to Darwin several times while I lived in Darwin. Being a true Queenslander he hated releasing fish. He always insisted we eat the barra he caught - even the 'swamp dogs'.
A member of the Federated Union of Drafties. Joined me for a trip into Arnhem Land with some other Drafties. Pictured here with his favourite lure. He even slept with it at night.
Ed and I have only been fishing a short while. Ed lives down the road from the Oyster Shack, and being a Firey has a bit of time for fishing adventures. He and I put in a bit of time last year working out the squid and Kingies near our home.
When it comes to fishing he lacks Mo Jo, but he is great bubbly drinking company for the girls.
I do remember one trip where we got caught in a seriously heavy rain storm and he had to bale with his designer cap.
Another member of the Federated Union of Drafties. He got amongst some nice fish on our trip to Wiligi. Now we fish around the Bouddi Peninsular NSW. It is our backyard as Fullo lives across the bay from the Oyster Shack.
Another member of the Federated Union of Drafties. Sadly Ivano had to stay home and give birth so he missed the Wiligi trip with the other boys, but he did get to Darwin a few months later.
Not only can JC walk on water, but he can pull fish out too.
A keen fisho with her own boat, named 'Fish'n Chicks'. Famous for falling in my tinnie while connected to a nice Barra. I still can't work out how she stayed in the boat.
Joey another member of the Federated Union of Drafties he is right up there in the "frequent fisho's". From Darwin, to Bynoe, Wiligi, Cobourg, Cooktown, Montague, Bouddi. Tasmania. We have covered some water together, and emptied a few coldies along the way.

Not a bad fisho for a plumber. John and Beth used to own a fishing charter business in Darwin. He knows the bottom fishing thing pretty well. It was good to show him the 'dark art' of chasing Barra on the flats with soft plastic lures.
The hairy hunter from Louisiana. John spent over 25years in Darwin, but his "if it moves I can catch, kill and cook it" attitude is still strong. He is the best crabber I came across. He opened the door to some pretty remote areas of the Territory for us.
Sep11 Shoal Bay - Aug11 Houseboats - May07 Cobourg - May06 Cobourg - May05 Cobourg
Not only is Kate a great bubbly drinking mate for Sharon, she has nailed a few good fish and makes a mean chocolate brownie.
Brother Rus's eldest. Not the keenest of fishos but he did get a Barra on his trip to Darwin.
We certainly have covered a lot of water together around the Top End. He never stops innovating. Some of the strangest fly/lure ensembles one can imagine.
May15 Darwin - Nov14 & Wiligi - Mar14 Vic river - Oct13 Kakadu & Bynoe - Mar13 Darwin - May05 Cobourg
A keen angler for years, mainly chasing Bream n Flatties around Tea Gardens and the Hawkesbury. He did however join me at Shady Camp for a steamy run off session and nailed a few good Barra.
Former producer of the ABC Tales from the Tinny program. Mario and I hit the water quite often. Mario got into video and drones and captured some of our adventures. See the videos on the 'fish;n vids" page of this site.
One half of the infamous Banana Brothers. So named due to a long run of ordinary luck when on fishing adventures. Mitch has joined me many times in and around Darwin. As well as locations around the south coast of NSW.
Jul 22 FNQ - Aug19 Darwin - Oct14 Wiligi - Sept10 Wiligi -
First producer of the ABC Tales from the Tinny program. Famous for fishing with under weight noodle sticks, and leaving his lunch on his kitchen bench.
He is one of the best fisho's and sledgers I have had aboard. check out his new project.
Fishing the Wild. and new Lord of the Macks
When it comes to banana curse, Nick and Brother Rus are in line to take the crown from the Banana Brothers. Nick n Rus have had their fair share of bad luck. When Nick joined us for a much anticipated Bynoe hit, we broke the trailer on the way in and missed the tide. Next time mate.
Only one trip to Darwin and I took him out to Corroboree Billabong. I think he enjoyed it.
My dear father in law.
Oct11 Bynoe - Aug02 Exmouth - 1999 SW WA - 1995 Forster - 1989 Duross
While hunting for photos we hunt for fish. Paul and I have certainly been to some awesome places. Now with his son Mitch is growing up, he tags along on our adventures.
Jul21 Tiwi - Jul20 Tiwi - Aug19 Bynoe - Aug18 Bynoe - Apr16 Bynoe - Aug15 Bullo stn - May14 Wiligi - Mar14 Shady Camp -
Normally behind the mic on the rudderless row boat that is 'Tales from the Tinny' radio show. I had the pleasure of fishing with Rob a few times. As well as contributing to the radio show on many occasions.
This bloke can fish. However his ever changing bright outfits are a concern. Even in deepest Arnhem Land Rod has a fresh fancy outfit for each day. WTF.This outfit is a bit of a dogs breakfast on his standards. Normally his hat, head sock and shirt match.
Another "frequent fisho". After getting the taste for barra fishing Rus made the effort to get to Darwin heaps of times.
He is easy to spot on the water, as he always reaches for his 'lucky gold shirt'.

Scottie used to live next door to us at the Oyster Shack, but now lives a couple of K away. He is a mad keen fisho. Mainly getting offshore hunting Kingies and Snapper. He was the one that caught wind of the Kingies being in Brizzie waters. Then the hunt began.
Aug/Sep2020 Kingies - plus several un documented adventures
Normally a Bass/Yellow Belly specialist from SE QLD. Stretch joined me for a couple of trips out around Darwin.
The other half of the infamous Banana Brothers. Never a dull moment when fishing with Tulls. Being a top class sledger makes up for his lack of charisma.
