2024-April - Tinaroo FNQ

This was a bit of a spur of the moment trip. I had long wanted to fish lake Tinaroo. When we travelled around Aus in 1999 i bumped into some fellow travellers that gave Tinaroo big wraps. Famous for Red Clay crayfish, and big fat Barras. So with a few days in FNQ spare I hit up Cairns based sport fishing guide Rory. He is a fish whispering legend whom I had fished with before. We hatched a plan to do a late arvo into the evening session, followed by a early morning session the next day. Fair to say that I didn't give Rory much say in the plan, and in hindsight it would not have been Rory's first choice of where to fish at that time of year.

Not only was the weather particularly unkind, the fish didn't want to look at our lures. Rory worked hard for us, but the results where sub par, but hey, that's fishing!!!

Glad we gave it a crack, maybe next time we will unlock the secrets of this legendary impoundment.
