Our first home build. Designed by me but built by a project builder that had the same belief in the Hebel product. My first boots and all commitment to this innovative product.
Our second home in Jerra. Grand in proportions and innovative with walk in pantry and raised dishwasher. Also innovative with its use of Hebel Power Panels and reticulated termite control system.
We moved to Perth and discovered turn of the century workers cottages, not far from the CBD. We loved this project. This was my first full time project, having juggled IT work and finishing the last two in "spare time".
Our second reno in Perth. A bigger job than our first old reno and I had to complete in 9 months as Shaz got a job in Darwin. Lots of beautiful features - jarrah floors, stained glass, 3m ceilings and fireplaces in each room.
Shaz and I moved to Darwin and eventually got our heads around the extraordinary cost to buy into an "elevated stick house" in a respected suburb. We took the plunge and devised a cunning plan to lift it and build living areas under. The rest is history.
What we learnt from Brogan St we applied to Parsons St only on a much grander scale. This house ticked all the boxes on how we wanted to live in this tropical city - indoor/outdoor relationships, tropical gardens, BBQ and huge entertaining space, saltwater pool and tool and boat storage. An entertainers dream.
With so much of our time in Darwin and Perth spent on and by the water we always dreamed of a house at the coast and with this house we realised that dream. Sold as a 'knock down and rebuild' due to the state of decay, neglect and termite damage we just couldn't do it. Years have been spent totally restoring one of the original cottages in the street and learning how to tame a steep sloping block and develop the gardens we so enjoy. A coastal paradise.
Back in Canberra and we had always wanted to own a traditional old Canberra red brick house. We transformed a small government cottage into a family home with stunning landscaping and large entertaining spaces. We absolutely loved living here.
