Nov 2016-Darwin-Bynoe-Finnis

You don't know how to sweat until you have done a day of build up barra fishing on Bynoe Harbour. Tough conditions but good barra.

This was a trip of two parts - one set of spring tides fishing with Stretch and a fortnight later I did it all again this time with Cousin Brad.

-Running repairs on the Mighty Dart. The fancy boat collar started to peel off. At one point when Brad and I were trying to out run a storm we had water pissing in about half dozen of it's mounting holes.

-The tides during these sets of spring tides were huge. In particular they had lower then normal bottom of the tides. resulting in us sitting on the bottom in Leigh creek waiting for the tide to return. This first part of the 'push in' is normally when the barra get on the chew in this creek. But due to the low low by the time the water got to us there was too much speed in the tide. It was un-fishable where we normally get a good run in, so we retreated further into the creek and found an eddie that was holding fish, making it worth the long wait for the tide to re float us.
